WCBM is an American commercial FM radio station that is licensed for Baltimore, Maryland and broadcasts live to the greater Baltimore area
It is owned by WCBM Maryland, Inc. and its studios are located in the Baltimore suburb of Pikesville, while the station transmitter resides in nearby Randallstown. Besides its main analog transmission, WCBM simulcasts over the HD digital subchannel of WQSR, and is available online.
The weekday morning shows of WCBM are hosted by personalities such as Sean Casey and Bruce Elliott, which are followed by a local program hosted by Derek Hunter and Bill O'Reilly's syndicated daily commentary.
And the weekday afternoons shows are The Rush Limbaugh Show and The Sean Hannity Show and are syndicated via Premiere Networks. Both of them are conservative talk shows.
During late evenings WCBM have The Mark Levin Show through Westwood One and The Buck Sexton Show through Premiere, as well as Coast to Coast AM with George Noory through Premiere as a paranormal/conspiracy theory oriented program through the overnight hours.
WCBM program during the weekend includes The Money Pit Home Improvement Radio Show and The Lutheran Hour, both of them syndicated shows hosted by Ric Edelman and Kim Komando, and assorted brokered programming.
This radio station was born in 1924 and its original studios and offices were in the Hotel Chateau which was located at the northwest corner of Charles Street and North Avenue. WCBM call letters come from the hotel's name.
In a more technical speech, WCBM began building in the early 2000s a new stronger radio tower in Carroll County, Maryland. This way, the station went to a daytime power of 50 000 watts and the nighttime power increased to 20 000 watts.
WCBM dropped in 2009 the ABC News Radio Network and switched to Fox News Radio because of its world and national news coverage.
